Tinting with crayons

I made this for my friend Lori. She made me awesome placemats so I am doing a pillow for her. The image is from a book on vintage ladies. I colored and embroidered the material. I used regular Crayola crayons to tint the embroidery. I will iron it to set the color and I am planning on dying it with tea to give it a more vintage look. I absolutely love it!

The reason for my sunburn

This weekend I worked on my yard and got SO sunburned! OUCH! I weeded a lot, played with the puppers and put out the patio furniture. I really like the way the backyard is shaping up. Our banana plant is almost in full bloom and the flowers are all coming up. The koi have decided to come to the surface to the pond. Here is one side of our patio furniture. I made the seat covers. We have an old fish bowl that I put cute little fake fish in. I found the green fish in our basement-she was too cute not to put up.

Lola and Jujube had lots of fun in the sun, Kato...not so much.

Crazy woman at the airport, film at 11

I have had such a shitty morning. It started last night, I couldn't get to sleep so I think I finally did around 1. I had to take Mark to the airport this morning and had to get up at 4:30 so we could be there at 5. I forgot my cell phone and my set of keys. Mark took his house key off the ring and I didn't realize this until I got half way home. Had to pay to park, run into the airport, try to find him. I couldn't remember what airline he was flying and their paging system didn't open till 6am. I was at the airport in my pj's with my hair sticking straight up. Oh yeah, no phone booths in the fucking airport. Found a cop, had him page-nothing, the cop said that that the only flight to LA was American. Went to American-nothing, I asked to use their phone and Mark answered and I got the house key. By this time I was totally upset and burst into tears. A hysterical middle age woman in her pj's is not a sight the airport wants to see. It was like a bad action movie. I'm surprised they didn't detain me

So, I get home, get ready for work-get to work and one of the computers died-completely died, it made a clicking sound and now nothing. I want to go home, have a cocktail and go back to sleep with the puppies.

Well, I made it through the rum, Sunday I spent the majority of the time on the couch, but on Saturday I went to Maryhill museum which is in the middle of nowhere. It was so amazing! We got to see a beautiful white peacock, amazing art work and enjoy great weather. 3 miles up the road is a replica of Stonehenge built by Sam Hill for WWI vets. It's so random. The reason for all the fun and excitement was me and the hubby's anniversay our 1st date (4 years ago). It was the best weekend

The white peacock. The Columbia river where the museum was at. In the middle of nowhere. The replica of Stonehenge.
