Feel Good Friday!

It's Friday! The sun is shining, the tunes are playing and I am one happy camper! I'm gonna enjoy this weekend with a little gardening, a little cocktailing and some stitching with friends. So bring on the good times!

Speaking of stitching. This is so cute! I love th colors and the stitching is amazing and clean. This is just one of Crafting with love's awesome ipod holders.

I have been on a blog search lately. There are so many great ones out there! I'm totally blown away by people's creativity. It makes me happy that there are so many beautiful happy bloggers out there. One that really stood out is Creative Breathing. I have decided that I want her craft room and I want her to adopt me. I'm sure she wants a 40 year old daughter!

Okay if someone doesn't get this for me for my birthday I will be very upset. Oh yeah, you are seeing it right. A Willie Nelson Finger puppet! AbbyChristine makes the cutest and funniest finger puppets ever! I really think I need a whole set of them. She also has Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. Maybe I will get all of them and have my own Grand Ol' Opry!

If my little Lola Mae doesn't make you happy on this Friday, nothing will! Composting is a stinking job!

Alright sweeties! I hope spring has sprung in your neck of the woods and the sun is shining down on you. Put your hands in some dirt, but don't mess up your manicure! Have a great weekend and wear sunscreen!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Happy St. Paddy's day to everyone! I hope you guys are wearing green-if not-here comes a big ol' pinch!

I first want to that Sweets4ever for making such awesome banners and to let everyone know that she won the contest and you will be seeing her banners as well as some I am making myself in rotation. If you still want to make one and practice your graphic design skills-do it! I'll throw it up on the old blog (okay, that sounded totally gross!)

Next, just a little FYI that I will be revamping the blog just a tad and making it bigger and better so watch this space for awesomeness!

And last but not least-if you are going to partake in festivities today/tonight. BE CAREFUL! No one wants to see you in the slammer or worst the morgue. I want to see all your beautiful faces enjoying my silly antics.

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.

Tie One On Tuesday!

Well Be’gosh and begorah – here we are on St. Paddy’s Eve and you haven’t a thought in your pretty little ginger head of what to drink on the festival of the green? Sure there is always the crappy food colored green beer that is dispensed at all the local taverns across the country. Have you ever thought that that green beer may be the crappy slow selling beer that the bar has lots of and needs to move fast before it spoils? Hey add some green food coloring and it will sell like hot cakes.

So here I am with some sophisticated (never thought you would see that word in a St. Paddy’s post did ya?) choices for Pied Piper of the snakes day.

One of the most obvious drinks is a Guinness Beer. But why not make it a bit more fun and order one of these babies:

Black and Tan:
Bottle of Guinness
Bottle of Bass Ale

Pour the bass into your Pint glass filling it up about halfway. Then take a spoon and carefully pour in your Guinness. It will blend and separate making a nice layered looking drink. Bottoms up!

Looking for something a little more with a kick that will turn your shellely green? How about an easy recipe for an:

Irish Coffee:
1 1/2 oz. Irish Whiskey
1 tsp. Brown Sugar
6 oz. Coffee
Heavy Cream

Combine Whiskey, Sugar and Coffee into an Irish coffee mug. Float cold cream gently on top. Plain and simple – plus, no fire involved – you do know alcohol is flammable right?

Okay – need more? Wow you’re thirsty today. Okay, one more and then I’m sending your green fedora wearing head home.

Wild Irish Rose:
1 oz. Bushmill’s
7 oz. Ginger ale
1 oz. Grenadine
1 oz. Lime Juice (fresh squeezed of course)
Mix all ingredients into 12 oz. Cocktail glass except for Ginger ale. Top with Ginger ale. Should fade red to pink in the glass.

So there you go, some green drink knowledge to arm yourself with before venturing out into that sea of drunken red haired strangers. Keep you gold shiny, your luck charmed and your knickers in a twist!  Bottoms up!

When Irish Eyes are Smiling

It might be the thought of green beer or the hunt for the little peoples pot of gold under the rainbow, but this time of year makes me speak in an Irish accent and dance a little River dance.

Just where did I learn this little jig? From Darby O' Gill and the Little People, of course. The film stars a young Sean Connery in a tale of Leprechauns, pots of gold and banshees. I remember seeing this movie when I was a little kid in the theater and loved it so much I made my sister sit through the movie 3 more times. We watched the movie for the whole day. I'm pretty sure my sister went out and flirted with boys as I danced around the theater secretly wishing I could find the pot of gold and buy all the candy in the world. Hey-it could happen!

Speaking of dancing and singing. The next wonderful Irish movie is The Commitments. The soundtrack alone is worth checking out the film. Jimmy, a young unemployed Irish idea man,  decides to put together a soul group in his depressing slum of Dublin. The band is formed, but strife seems to rear it's ugly head, causing chaos to erupt, tearing the band apart. My hubby says this is the best film that shows what being in a band in real life is really like.

Our last stop on this cinematic tour of the Emerald Isle, is one of the most moving pieces of Cinema I have ever seen. In the Name of the Father is a true story of several Irish citizens, including a father and son, who are wrongly accused and convicted of an IRA bombing. A British lawyer helps clear their name and brings the father and son together. Warning! This is a very strong story that can polarize people and make you break out into tears when seeing injustice done in the world. You've been warned

After reviewing these 3 films Irish themed movies, I think I have found what I am looking for. They will make you laugh, dance, sing and give hope to the world around us, and that is definitely the pot of gold at the end of the proverbial rainbow.

Feel Good Friday!

It's Friday, get dancing! It's Friday, shake your bootie! Whoop! Whoop! Hello lovelies! Thanks for the well wishes-I'm feeling better and back in the saddle again. Yeehaw! Fine-I'll take it down a notch. I'm just happy that it's the weekend and all I've got planned is to be 100% awesome. Oh yeah, you heard me. Awesome called and Pam answered. Let's see what I've got for you to be equally as awesome!

You know I love a good stache and this one is too cute to pass up. Saturn_art did such a great job.  Wanna know what else is great about this little cutie? You can win it! You heard me right! Head on over to this blog and find out the details.

Galadarling.com has been around for some time but her recent post about weight and self love caught my attention. She has such an amazing outlook on life and love. Her blog is just one big bundle of beautiful! I love her "Things I love Thursday", they always put a smile on my face. This article is awesome. Preach it sista!

Lately I have been wanting calling cards. I am constantly connecting with people and want little cards that have my name, website, phone number on them. I just can't decide which one I want. Any ideas? Here are a few that I really like.

Hey Look! I'm making silly melt and pour soap. Notice the creepy elf head cookie jar. That thing greets me every morning.

Baby otter! I have seen this face on the pups too many times. It's the "What? I didn't do anything" face,  or the
"Seriously mom?" face.  Too adorable! I'm dying over the cuteness of the nose and whiskers.

So, whether you're snuggling up with your own otter, dedicating your life to the pursuit of  the mustache or just going out and being fabulous-have fun! This is not a dress rehearsal.

Happiness is a form of courage.  ~Holbrook Jackson

A bear does WHAT in the woods?

So, I'm sorry that I have been MIA the past couple of days. I have been super duper sick! I'm feeling a little better-thanks for asking.

Over the weekend, I went to an antique show and found these cute little guys. I couldn't pass them up.

The one with the fish is just too cute! Enjoy!
