Feel Good Friday!

AWWWWW YEAH! Friday is here! Tune up your air guitars and rock out! YAHOO!

LimeRiot is so amazing! Not only does she have the second cutest batch of dogs in the world but she is also so talented in the stitching department. She pretty much rocks my socks.

I'm pretty sure I need this wallpaper. It's fuzzy! Madison Humphrey has amazing wall paper and fabric.

Speaking of awesome, my sister from another mister, Becky made this for me in a movie swap. I seriously about died when I got it. Thin Man! EEEPPPPP!

And that's what I'm gonna do! Pam "Kittykill" is out of here! Peace!

Yarn Wreaths Are So Thursday Sept. 8, 2011!

I am such a sucker for a cool wreath and when I was asked to do yarn and felt flower wreaths for Craftster.org, I couldn't resist.

Here is the finished wreath

And because I think you need to make one too, here's the video.

Tie One On Tuesday

You guys I normally bring my A game to the plate, but babies, momma is tired! So tired that she can barely lift the cocktail shaker. I promise I will be back next week with delightful cocktails and wonderful booze ridden stories, but for tonight you get a shot of whiskey and a bag of Doritos. Don't judge!

Happy Sit On the Couch Day!

Normally I would write a post about Labor Day movies, since today is Labor Day in the US and I'm a full supporter of the labor movement and jobs in general, but since I am still on the mend and thinking makes me cranky when I'm not feeling good, so I decided to go with a few movies I watched yesterday while sitting on the couch.

I knew I needed something to cheer me up so I went with Godzilla-The Final Wars. I was all happy and excited until OMP walked by and said, "I think Godzilla dies in this movie." WHAT? I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that and I can say, with a big smile of my face that Godzilla does die...but it was that horrible American version and not the cutey Japanese, original guy. So, I just gave you a spoiler....Anyhoo, the special effects are hysterical, the dubbing is horrible but this movie rocked my socks! All of the Godzilla monsters are in it and you get to see an intro clip of 50 years of Godzilla. I know this movie will be on heavy rotation at Casa de Pedersen.

Next on my Sunday movie couch day wasn't actually a movie, but a serial put out in 1939. OMP and I watched several episodes of the Green Hornet serial. It was awesome! I love how just a mask could fool everyone and how racketeers were always trying some way to commit a crime . A little known fact, but Jujube's dad, Kato was named after Kato from the Green Hornet. Okay, back to the serial. These little 30 minute shows were played before the movie back in 30's and you went every week to see them. While this may seem kind of crazy to us, I think it was a wonderful way to escape from everything, including your house and enjoy a good story.

Last on my Pam Better Snap Out of It Sunday Couch-a-thon was a movie that I have talked about before but it's one of my favorites. Sunset Blvd is brilliant. Everything about this movie is amazing. I would say that this is probably the best picture made (and you know the way I feel about The Big Lebowski and The Thin Man). The mood of the film is as heavy as those velvet drapes of Nora Desmond's and you feel the sadness and weight of life on the lead characters.

Well, there ya go! A day in the life of Pam sitting on the couch. I am happy to report that I am back to my old self and ready to kick butt and take names or at least move to the other side of the couch.

Scrappy Dog Sunday

AGH! Let me explain the reason I've been MIA. It all started with my wrist bothering me and I decided to take a little break to have it heal up. Well, I got a wrist guard and was fine on Wednesday and then, well, Thursday rolled around and I think I went to bed at 6 that night cause Lola got me up at 3, Refreshed and ready for Friday, I get a paper cut on my eyeball. You heard me right-a paper cut on my flippin' eyeball! Let the crinching begin. So, I've had a patch on it and tried to not be on the computer or do anything else while it healed. Which brings me to Sunday-WHEW!

Speaking of waking me up, I must say that the pups are wonderful alarm clocks. They get me up at 5 every morning, only to go back to sleep after they go outside and get a treat.  They look like this by 5:15am
Lola

I look like this...

Cute fuzzy puppy....
What is up with her feet?

Monster mom...

 Simply adorable...

Dear You Know Who

Open letters to a few people in my life:

Dear boss,
While I am a fan of the churro, I don't believe spending 30.00 at one churro stand is healthy.

Dear Jujube,
I've never been so happy to see a dog poop. I'm glad you're on the mend.

Dear EFU,
I love you. Thank you for keeping me insane in a sane world...wait, I think I got that backwards.

Dear OMP,
I wish I had words to express how much I love you, but I don't and I'm too lazy to look them up, but just know that you rock my world.

Dear Universe,
Thanks for letting me have a pity party with cake and ice cream. I'm glad I got to sit on the corner and pout but now it's time for me to cowgirl up, put on my big girl panties and ride into the sunset, so don't be jerky and let me have my rhinestone moment.

AND LAST......

Dear you-yeah! You!,
You are so wonderful. Thank you for making the sun shine, laughing at my silly jokes and making it worthwhile to get up in the morning. I hope I do the same for you.

Hugs, not drugs....kiss, kiss, bang, bang, Stay in school, Peace out,

Pam

Just Like Chicken

Oh you guys! I wish I had better stories to tell you as to why I've been MIA the past couple of days, but the truth is my wrist was in pain and I'm now wearing a funky brace that makes me look like a professional bowler, which isn't a bad thing.

I was going to tell you that I hurt my wrist in a arm wrestling match and then roll into great arm wrestling movies, but there aren't any. There's Over the Top and that's about it. Sorely disappointed, I decided to go with plan B..Giant animals, attacking our city. Yeah, that's it, I hurt it rescuing Portland from big furry animals (I'm not talking about hipsters with unkempt beards either-that's a whole other post)

I am a huge fan of bacon. I love it! So, when 1984's Razorback showed up on my doorstep, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it (Get it, bacon, sink my teeth into it.....hello?) Razorback features, you guessed it, a giant razorback who terrroizes the Australian outback. While you rarely get to see the piglet, you do get a nice Mad Max feel, so that's not so bad.

Everyone loves fuzzy bunnies, right? Well what about a hundreds of fuzzy bunnies that are giant blood sucking, farm eating beasts? Still think those little pink nose monsters are cute? Night of the Lepus is a heartwarming story about giant mutated rabbits. You heard me right, giant, mutated rabbits. I'm not gonna bore you with the storyline, because basically there isn't one. The only thing you really need to know about this is giant mutated rabbits. If you look closely, they change size from scene to scene throughout that movie - and not smaller to bigger either.

So, ever been on a hunting trip up in Canada and ran across a giant chicken? No? Well, you don't know what you are missing! Let me tell you! Food of the Gods is a hysterical romp through a remote land with giant wasps, rats and chickens. It is delightfully bad, even by my standards but it did have me asking the question, when the killer chicken ate the human, "Did it taste just like chicken?"

Some may call these campy  movies, but I call them training films. Yep, everything I learned are from these movies. You might even say, my whole body is a weapon.
