Oh boy! Christmas is here! We were good (insert giggle) all year long and Santa treated us right!
New blankets and toys
Lola seems to think that she is a fashion critic, she is not a fan of OMP's new shirt.
The girls have decided to leave us and go live with my father. I don't blame them, he's pretty good at spoiling little girls.
Pete was a little sad that he didn't get his Red Rider BB gun, Maybe next year, little guy...don't want to shoot your eye out.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours. May today and every day be filled with love, peace and joy in your heart.

Merry Christmas Eve
Ohhhhh.....my tummy....so much food.....so many good things to eat.
We had BBQ sweet and sour meatballs, sausage balls, buffalo wing dip and the crown on the table, the yule log.
If you need a quick appetizer, here are two easy recipes you can whip up in no time.
Sausage Balls
1 tube (a pound I believe) of sausage
1 cup of Bisquick
2 cups of sharp cheese
Mix the sausage, cheese and Bisquick together.
Roll into tiny balls and bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. You know they are done when the cheese and the balls are golden brown (oh, so many that's what she said...I can't stand it)
Buffalo Chicken Dip
1 bottle of Frank's Red Hot sauce
2 cups of shredded chicken
1 block of cream cheese
2 cups of cheese
Spread room temperature cream cheese into a medium glass dish (9x13)
Mix the hot sauce and chicken together and spread the chicken mixture over the cream cheese.
Spread the cheese over the chicken cream cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
If you want a little more of a crusty cheese, turn on the broiler for about 2 minutes-be careful not to burn!
Oh my goodness....I'm glad I put out that bowl of Tums.

Feel Good Friday
via sweetidings.blogspot.com
Only a few more days until Santa comes to Casa de Pedersen. I hope I'm on the nice list this year!
I believe! I believe! KonnyKards stitched up this adorable Santa, just in time for the big day.
Wanna see where Santa is with your goodies? Well, Norad has a website where you can check on Santa's flight and see if he is near your town. This is a popular website at our house. What? Didn't you read the cross stitch above....if you don't believe, you get underwear and socks...
Speaking of gifts, I think that the pups might need this. It allows your dog to tweet! Crazy right? The great thing about this gift is that you can check on your little one when you are at work. You put the little transmitter on the dog's collar and when it barks, it updates the tweet. It comes in blue and pink and leaves messages such as "I miss you, hurry home," or in Pete's case, "Sorry about the rug."
Ahhhhh......feel that holiday cheer? It's pure bliss. Happy holidays to all of you from all of me! Now, if you will excuse me, I have an OMP and cookies waiting for me. Yep, pure bliss.

My Wrist Hates Me
What do you do when you're upset? Eat? Not eat? Curl up in a fetal position? I stitch.
While Lola was on the mend, I sat beside her and between kisses and hugs and tears, I stitched up this Merry Christmas cross stitch. I found the pattern in Cross Stitcher magazine and knew I had to make it. My wrist hates me for so much stitching in such a short amount of time, but I promised it a few days off before starting the next project.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours. May you have peace, love and lots of puppy kisses-with just a sprinkle of pink, now and into the new year.

Happy Birthday OMP!
Today is my sweetie's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY OMP!
I made you this cake...
But Pete ate it...

I was going to get you these drums...
But I remembered that Lola had a problem with drums...
I was going to sing you Happy Birthday...but Jujube decided to follow her dream of being, Olive, the other reindeer....

So, I guess the best I can do is wish you a very happy birthday. You bring a smile to my face every day and each morning waking up next to you is the best day of my life. You make me laugh. You allowed me to finally breathe. I'm not sure what the future holds for us, but I know with my hand in yours, we can face any of life's challenges. I love you.
Now, go get funky, cause it's your birthday! Whoop! Whoop!

Just a Quick Note...
Hi gang!
I want to apologize for not being around as much lately. You see, sometimes things are not always as great as they should be around Casa de Pedersen. I know I told you about Lola and her bum tooth, well, now we are confronted with an older dog who is having some hind leg problems and a mother who has been in tears every since Sunday. So please forgive me for not being here to share all my adventures with you.
Lola is a feisty little monster and I'm hoping will be back on top soon as will her silly sobbing mother.

Scrappy Dog Sunday!
This week has been very scary at Casa de Pedersen. My little Ms. Lola had a bad tooth. We had to take her to the vet and get her checked out. I was slapped in the face with the reality that Lola isn't a puppy anymore. She is now a senior dog and while in the back of my mind I always knew that, the stark reality that she is not going to follow me all through my life hit me like knife through my heart.
I found this online and it pretty much explains my love for this little girl.
I found this online and it pretty much explains my love for this little girl.
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust,
and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away
from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog",
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man or woman."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog"
just smile...
because they "just don't understand."
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
