Treating Myself

2012! Or as I like to call it, Treat Yo' Self! That's right! I have deemed 2012 to be the year of Treat Yo' Self.

The beginning of Treat Yo' Self is all about getting rid of negativity. How can you truly treat yourself if you are pinned down by negative garbage? Flush that crap down the toilet, take the garbage to the curb. Get rid of it!

In a bad relationship? Well, treat yo' self and send it packing! A one sided friendship-So long sucker! Cause you are treating yo' self to some good positive vibes.

Now, treating yourself hasn't nothing to do with material goods (although, I am gonna treat myself to some fine leather goods sometime this year). It's all about doing what is good for you. This includes body and spirit.

Wanna know the way I kicked off my treat yo' self year? I took a nice hot bubble bath, poured me a glass of champagne and then ate a piece of chocolate cake. Why? Cause I am treating myself! Will I do this every night-of course not, I'll mix up chocolate cake for bons bons. I mean I'm not going to be completely overindulgent. Please!

So, say good-bye to those resolutions of starving yourself or trying to change someone and treat yo' self to some decadent and happy living. You deserve it! Maybe if we all treat ourselves, we will treat others in the same way and it will become a happy, fun revolution!

This week I am treating myself to letting go of crappy relationships and nurture ones that make me feel great about myself and being in this world. What will you do this week to treat yo' self?  C'mon people! Indulge!

    The Year is 2012...

The future....our future....2012. Did you think we would make it? Do you think the world will end? Apparently movies of the past didn't have much faith in the future...

One of my favorite movies and probably one of the bleakest portrayals of the future is Blade Runner. This "cyberpunk" film shows a young Harrison Ford in one of his finest roles. Ford plays a Blade Runner, a man who hunts down replicants and terminates them. A plot thickens as several of the replicants go rogue and Harrison is forced to find them. Part film noir, part science fiction, this movie does not fail to keep you attention.

Okay, where is my hover skateboard? I believe that Marty McFly had one in Back to the Future II and I would like mine now. Listen, science, you have three years to get on that so start moving! Back to the Future II is the sequel to the hugely successful Back to the Future and guess what, this one was equally as great! Marty goes back, forward and back again to make sure that his future is secure. I love that they had the majority of the cast back in this one, the only one missing was Cripsin Glover who went nutty in asking for crazy amounts of money. How to solve that, just kill off the character...

Homeland Security, Ipods to download computerized music, corporations are bigger than ever...hmmmm...okay, this future is the dimmest of all. Am I watching the news? Nope just 1984. This movie is not something you want to watch if you want uplifting. A lot of the references are now reality (albeit in more subtle ways) and the darkness of the movie definitely transports you into a time that you hope you will never see in it full fruition.

Whether you are flying around on your skateboard or thinking of ways to escape Big Brother, these films will transport you into a time that will have you longing for the good ol' years. Just remember, the future has yet to be written and can be changed-so for the love of all things holy, let's please stop Michael Bay from making another movie!

    Scrappy Christmas!

Oh boy! Christmas is here! We were good (insert giggle) all year long and Santa treated us right!

    New blankets and toys

Lola seems to think that she is a fashion critic, she is not a fan of OMP's new shirt.

The girls have decided to leave us and go live with my father. I don't blame them, he's pretty good at spoiling little girls.

Pete was a little sad that he didn't get his Red Rider BB gun, Maybe next year, little guy...don't want to shoot your eye out.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. May today and every day be filled with love, peace and joy in your heart.

    Merry Christmas Eve

Ohhhhh.....my tummy....so much food.....so many good things to eat.

    Christmas eve yummies

We had BBQ sweet and sour meatballs, sausage balls, buffalo wing dip and the crown on the table, the yule log.
    Yule log for Christmas eve

If you need a quick appetizer, here are two easy recipes you can whip up in no time.

    Sausage Balls
1 tube (a pound I believe) of sausage
    1 cup of Bisquick
    2 cups of sharp cheese
Mix the sausage, cheese and Bisquick together.
Roll into tiny balls and bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. You know they are done when the cheese and the balls are golden brown (oh, so many that's what she said...I can't stand it)

    Buffalo Chicken Dip
1 bottle of Frank's Red Hot sauce
    2 cups of shredded chicken
    1 block of cream cheese
    2 cups of cheese
Spread room temperature cream cheese into a medium glass dish (9x13)
Mix the hot sauce and chicken together and spread the chicken mixture over the cream cheese.
Spread the cheese over the chicken cream cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
If you want a little more of a crusty cheese, turn on the broiler for about 2 minutes-be careful not to burn!

Oh my goodness....I'm glad I put out that bowl of Tums.

    Feel Good Friday

     via sweetidings.blogspot.com

Only a few more days until Santa comes to Casa de Pedersen. I hope I'm on the nice list this year!

I believe! I believe! KonnyKards stitched up this adorable Santa, just in time for the big day.

Wanna see where Santa is with your goodies? Well,  Norad has a website where you can check on Santa's flight and see if he  is near your town.  This is a popular website at our house. What? Didn't you read the cross stitch above....if you don't believe, you get underwear and socks...

Speaking of gifts, I think that the pups might need this. It allows your dog to tweet! Crazy right? The great thing about this gift is that you can check on your little one when you are at work. You put the little transmitter on the dog's collar and when it barks, it updates the tweet.  It comes in blue and pink and leaves messages such as "I miss you, hurry home," or in Pete's case, "Sorry about the rug."

Ahhhhh......feel that holiday cheer? It's pure bliss. Happy holidays to all of you from all of me! Now, if you will excuse me, I have an OMP and cookies waiting for me. Yep, pure bliss.
